Position Cobol/CICS Programmer - Full Time
Location Work location is in the Washington, DC area.
Primary Duties/
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for analyzing, coding, testing, and support of legacy mainframe system supporting day to day plant operations.
  • Provide senior-level analytical and coding skills on large and complex on-line and batch mainframe (COBOL) applications.
  • Work with customers to define requirements, document requirements, update existing documentation, designing, coding, testing, implementing software changes and providing production support in an IBM mainframe environment.
Experience

Cobol/CICS Programmer shall have at least 8 years experience with maintaining and supporting legacy enterprise mainframe systems.

This experience must include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 8+ years IBM COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 and SQL experience
  • Experience in providing analysis for large plant production operations
  • Production support experience of at least four years with expertise in debugging system and application issues in a batch oriented system
  • 3+ years or more of Oracle DB skills on Windows platform, along with coding shell scripts
  • 3+ years of Visual C++
  • MS Access experience a plus
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical issues and offer solutions
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills

  • Customer-focused attitude and desire to interface directly with end-user clients
